Third overall position on the competition in which they challenged 70 universities from all over the world
The team “Squadra corse” of the Politecnico di Torino is back on the podium, last weekend they won third place overall in the Formula SAE Italy Electric on the circuit of Varano de Melegari (PR), an outstanding result. The competition, in its eighth edition, saw 2,000 students coming from 70 universities from all over the world, who competed in the planning, design and construction of vehicles manufactured entirely by them. It is a real engineering challenge, with the objective of evaluating the design effort of the students on the one hand, and to compare the performance of the cars developed on the other.
The Turin team achieved excellent placement in all specialties, ranking first in the cost analysis, business plan and autocross events. Nevertheless, remained in the top five in all other tests, all done with the SC12e, a prototype born of collaborations with major companies mainly located on Piedmont Region, outperformed all vehicles previously produced in the history of the team.
A great success for the members of “Squadra Corse”, therefore, they represent the first Italian company to design and produce a single-seater formula vehicle with a full-electric powertrain, thanks to the collaboration between different disciplines. The team is composed by students of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive, Management, Aerospace, Design and Industrial Production.
